Arby’s Gets a Clue – Several, in Fact

Long struggling Arby’s has hired former Burger King CMO and marketing wizard Russ Klein as its new CMO.

One of his first acts was to bring in former BK ad shop Crispin Porter + Bogusky, infamous for their creepy (but effective) King commercials.

Now the company is licensing Rodale Press and its Men’s Health magazine’s “Eat This, Not That” concept to bring a halo to seven menu items, including the Roast Beef Classic Combo (fewer than 500 calories) or the Cravin’ Chicken Crispy (510 calories and few than 1,200 milligrams of sodium).

When Klein was once told the King ads were “creepy,” he replied “I’ll take creepy.”
