Channel Blurring Boosts Food Sales

According to a new study, shoppers who patronize four or more channels spend 3-5 times more than those who shop in just one channel. For some products, single channel buying prevailed (50% purchased coffee at one channel), while in other categories, two or more were the norm. Snacks (82%), carbonated beverages (72%) and cereal (66%) were usually bought in more than one channel.
